DIY Peppermint Candy Cane Body Scrub * Home & Garden * Handmade Christmas






Body scrub is always a welcome gift at my house. During the winter I love to use it to keep my skin soft and smooth. This yummy peppermint candy cane body scrub is a sweet and simple gift to give as a hostess gift, for work friends, neighbors, teachers and just about anyone. The cooling peppermint is so refreshing. We use only the finest ingredients of pure essential oils and coconut oil.

Peppermint Candy Cane Body Scrub
makes 4 pint jars

  • 6 cups of sea salt
  • 3 cups of virgin cold press coconut oil
  • Pure peppermint essential oil- we use Spark Naturals brand
  • Red food coloring
  • Decorative ribbon- we used American Crafts brand
  • 4 pint canning jars with lids




In a large glass liquid measuring cup melt coconut oil in microwave for 10 seconds at a time until melted. In a medium glass mixing bowl add 4 cups of salt. In a small glass mixing bowl add the remaining 2 cups of salt.
Pour 1/2 cup of coconut oil into the small bowl with 2 cups of salt then add 5 drops of peppermint oil and mix ingredients together.
In the remaining coconut oil add 10 drops of peppermint oil and 10 drops of red food coloring. Mix together with a whisk.  Pour the pink coconut oil into the large bowl with the 4 cups of salt. Mix together.
Using an ice cream scooper scoop pink or white salt mixture into jar. Pressing into the jar with the scoop. Alternate colors to create the candy cane strip effect.
Tie with decorative ribbons and gift to friends and family. Be sure to make some for yourself too!

Our Andes Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies are just the right amount of crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside with Andes Mints and Chocolate Chunks. They are a favorite at home, at the office and for parties.



Andes Mint Chocolate Chip Cookies
makes 24 cookies

  • 1 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons of real vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose unbleached flour
  • 1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chunks or chips
  • 1/2 cup of Andes Mints chunks
  • 24 Andes Mints





Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. In a large mixing bowl dump butter, brown sugar, salt, baking soda, and vanilla. Cream together with electric mixer. Add eggs and blend together with mixer. Slowly mix in 1/2 cup of flour at a time until mixed well. Chop Andes mints into large chunks. Mix in chocolate chunks and Andes Mint chunks. 
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper. Using a cookie scoop, scoop 12 cookies onto cookie sheet. Press one Andes Mint per cookie on top.
Bake for 10 minutes until light golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes. Enjoy! Once completely cooled store in airtight container. 

White Chocolate Peppermint Brownie Truffles * 25 Days of Christmas


Brownies and peppermint and white chocolate rolled up into one tasty truffle treat. Perfect for a gift placed in a pretty tissue paper line white box tied up with a bow. Merry Christmas!




Step 1
Brownie Filling:

  • 1 Cup Butter 
  • 2 Cups Granulated Sugar
  • 2 Teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 4 Large Eggs
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1 Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 Cup Unbleached White Flour
Note: This is also a great brownie recipe.

In a large glass microwave safe bowl melt butter checking every 20 seconds. Mixing by hand stir in sugar. Then add vanilla, eggs, baking powder and salt and stir just until blended. Add coco and flour mixing just until all ingredients are incorporated. Do not over mix. 
Pour into a buttered 9 x 14 pan at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Do not over bake. Allow to cool.
Using an ice cream scooper scoop out balls of brownie. Form into 1 1/2 to 2 inch balls. 

Step 2
White Chocolate:
  • 12 ounces of  Real White Chocolate 
  • Optional- 3 Drops of Pure Essential Peppermint Oil (we use doTerra brand since it's purest)
Note: Real white chocolate has cocoa butter in the ingredients list. Brands such as Bakers.

With a sharp chefs knife chop white chocolate into small chunks. In a medium microwave safe glass bowl melt the white chocolate chunks. Check and stir the chocolate every 20 seconds until fully melted. Optional- stir in pure peppermint oil. 
Dip brownie balls into the white chocolate using a fork. Tap the excess white chocolate off the brownie balls by tapping mid-handle of the fork on the side of the bowl. Place on a piece of wax or parchment paper. 



Step 3
Candy Cane Topping:
  • 12 Package of Peppermint Candy Canes
In a large gallon sized zipper bag place 6 peppermint candy canes. Hit the candy canes while in the bag with a hammer to crush the candy canes. 
Sprinkle crush candy cane over the top of each white chocolate dipped brownie ball. 
Allow white chocolate to completely set and store in a airtight container.
