When Milk-Bone asked us to collaborate with them on a blog post about out pets all I could think about it that our pups are more than just our pets they are part of our family. We got Harrison Oakley Acorn when he was 3 months old. He's our black Taco Terrier which is a mix of a miniature fox terrier and a chihuahua. He is our rescue dog. His mom and dad were put in a foster home when his mom was pregnant with him because their owner had a stroke and couldn't take care of them anymore. We were lucky because he was born at the foster home and got to live with his parents up until we adopted him. He's our first dog. I had no idea how much I would love having a puppy until my son convinced me we need a puppy. One look at Harry and I was sold. He is the sweetest little pup. I call him my shadow not only because he's black but also because he follows me everywhere.
Pink Poppy Rose or Rosie is our baby. She's a 4-month-old border collie. We got her from a local farmer/rancher. We call her out silly sitter because she sits in the funniest places and in the funniest ways. For example, when we're in the car she thinks she can fit on the little armrest next to the driver's seat to use as her seat. She finds all sorts of silly ways to sit around the house. Rosie is learning new tricks every day. She just learned to shake your hand and is now working on rolling over. She loves having a crunchy treat as an incentive to work on her tricks. Harrison has been helping her out by showing how to do the tricks. It's the cutest thing to watch.
Both of these pups have come into our lives and we had no idea how they would enrich our family and bring comfort and companionship to each of us daily. Harrison always knows when someone is sad. He is right there by your side the moment he senses you need comfort. Rosie is a sweetheart
Milk-Bone is celebrating their 20th anniversary. To celebrate they are working with Canine Assistants which is a non-profit organization that trains service dogs to help kids and adults with special needs and disabilities and then gives them a service dog to assist them.
As part of the 20th-anniversary celebration, Milk-Bone created a video to showcase some of these sweet service dogs and their pet parents. Isn't this the sweetest video?
