Travel * The Run Around Commuting King * 2014 Toyota Corolla

I was excited when this beauty in blue arrived. The first thing I said was wow look at that blue! It's a great color, you have to see in person.
I have been a big fan of the Toyota Corolla since my first car which was a 1985 Corolla. That sweet dark red corolla went through more than any 4-cylinder car has any business doing. I took it up muddy dirt roads up the mountain, packed it in every crack and crevice and drove it across the county and sped it through death valley in the heat of summer at over 100 mph. It keep going and going. It only met it's fate to my little brother who totaled it 16 years later. Did you know that over 80% of all Corollas sold in the last 20 years are still on the road! I believe it. Look around and you will see a lot of them on the road.

I heard some say this 2014 maybe their favorite Toyota Corolla so far and I think they may be right. The 2014 is roomy with room for my teen boys long legs (41.4" in the rear) or for the commuter carpool car. The seats are adjustable so everyone from a shorter 5' lady to a 6'4" man can comfortably site in the drivers seat.

The Entune™ Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite makes the commute comfortable and enjoyable. I love Toyota's navigation. We use it all the time. It's so nice to have a map built in when you are out on the road and looking for a location.
A few tech feature's we love:

  • Standard Bluetooth
  • Backup Camera
  • Steering Wheel Controls
  • USB Port
  • 6.1-in. touch-screen display
  • hands-free phone capability
Other great features offered:
  • Air conditioning with dust and pollen filter
  • 2 Front and 2 rear drink holders plus bottle holders in door
  • Steering wheel with paddle shifters

Great gas mileage is one of the things the Toyota Corolla has been know for over the years. We loved that the 2014 Corolla kept it's promise when it came to gas mileage. We were keeping an average of 35.2 mph around town. They are giving an 28/37 est. mpg. As you can see we were well above 28 mpg's around town.

One of my all time favorite features on the Toyota Corolla is the fold-down back seats. I have moved everything from lumber and large paintings to snowboards and very large character costumes. Having this folding rear seat makes the corolla so much more versatile when you need to move and carry more than just people.
