It's summertime. Summer has officially started. Backyard parties on the weekends are happening with family and friends gathering al fresco for dinner. Outdoor entertaining is at its height. We kicked up the regular old hot dog up to a spicy, easy, show-stopping dinner that the kids and adults will love. Inspired by our favorite party dip, the seven-layer dip, we put together a Cheese Stuffed Seven-Layer Mexican Franks that are cooked in the campfire coals or on the grill.
Cheese Stuffed Seven Layer Mexican Hot Dogs
- Hebrew National All-Beef Franks
- Bakery Fresh Hot Dog Buns
- Monterey Jack Cheese
- Guacamole
- Pico de Gallo
- Sour Cream
- Shredded Lettuce
- Sliced Pickled Jalapenos
Tear enough aluminum fold to cover each hot dog. Slice almost all the way through each hot dog. Stuff with sliced pepper jack cheese. Roll hot dog in foil. Place hot dogs in hot campfire coals or on the grill until cheese is melted and a hot dog is heated through.
Place hot dog on a sliced bun. Add toppings in order: pico di gallo, shredded lettuce, chopped cilantro, guacamole, sour cream, and top with jalapeno slices.
Serve with a nice icy cold drink. Enjoy!
